Cabbage never smelled so good.

Tonight while picking up the many toys, the Cabbage Patch dolls caught my eye. I immediately became nostalgic (sp?), the face and oh the smell, that powder smell. I picked her up (the blonde one) and held her close smelling her remebering how excited I was when I saw that Santa had brought the box, the certificate and Tessie Simone. Oh yea I still remeber her name and the joy she brought me. I rarely can capture those feelings again. But these dolls, strawberry shortcake and watching the kids in the tub remind me of my joy and time of innocence. So naturally when I found out I was pregnant with Noah one of my first purchases was a Cabbage Patch Kid. Blue eyed blonde - but I could only find a girl. The inventory is not what it used to be. For Frances I though this infant looked just like her. When we were at Cheeky Monkey last week I saw the strawberry shortcake figures. Oh Frances you will let me re-live my youth. Doll houses, barbies and ballet. Oh the excitement.

Easter Sunday Best

I made hot cross buns. They tasted nothing like the bakery ones. But we ate them anyway.

We had a egg hunt for Noah.

General Conference scenes from our house....

Saturday was gloomy and rainy. But thankfullly we had a whole day of General Conference and a birthday party to keep us busy. My visiting teacher dropped off some homemade playdough and a packet of  conference coloring pages for Noah. I was not sure it would keep him occupied while we watched but it did and he even listened! Who knew that homemade playdough would be a hit compared to the store bought stuff. He loved it. At each session he got into his learning tower and played. Frances has become familiar with the tabernacle choir. She is my musical baby. Before church we listen to music and the spoken word. This helped because both children were familiar and little girl even watched when they sang. Oddly she folds her hands during prayer now???? not sure were she learned that but she has picked up on when we are praying and tries to participate. Sunday was glorious....... we woke to a warm clear skied sunny day.  The pictures never do out view justice but it was spectacular today. I made homemade english muffins which fell a bit small but tasted yummy. We hung around in our PJs and spent quality daddy time. I love Conference - so many wonder messages. I am not to the point of writing my thoughts down and but I do get inspired and have my favorite talks. The topic details always seem to fit what I am thinking or feeling. I have been surrounded by sad stories of loss and illness. Just this week I have been working with a couple - keeping her alert and comfortable so she could see her daughter home from school this weekend before she passes soon enough. I know so many whose mortal bodies are so imperfect and the messages of knowing we do not need to be perfect to return to heavenly father but the knowledge that our bodies will be healed and whole again with our spirit gives me hope. I also know that our less than perfect children our worth our love and are gifts no matter the earthly challenges they or we face with them. The grace that they impart upon us is a gift we should be greatful for knowing we were chosen to bear the mortal challenge to care for them. - no I do not know if I am having a special needs baby, but one never knows.
